What is a Memoir?
A Memoir is a personal account of stories and events from one’s life. Memoirs can include stories about childhood, about parents and grandparents, and what life was like back then. They can recount one’s education and career, interests and passions, family and friends, and the sharing of life lessons learned. Told in the subject’s own voice, a Video or Audio Memoir captures not only the stories, but also the character of the storyteller.
Lifetime Memoirs specializes in the production of Audio and Video Memoirs for you or someone you love. We will guide you through the process from start to finish.
Types of Memoirs
Personal – A Personal Memoir captures the life stories and character of a single person and weaves them into a unique portrait. You can do a memoir of your own life or commission one for a parent, grandparent, relative or friend.
Family – In a Family Memoir more than one person can participate in telling stories. For example, spouses may decide to tell their stories together. Or perhaps parents and children, or brothers and sisters might participate together. Family Memoirs capture a shared story.
Ethical Will – Ethical Wills are a tradition dating back at least 3000 years. They are a way to share your values, beliefs, lessons learned, hopes and dreams for your loved ones. An Ethical Will, not to be confused with a Legal Will, is a way to give the people you care about the benefit of your experience and to share this wisdom with them.
